Board of Directors
Our volunteer Board of Directors come from a variety of professional backgrounds, but are united in their efforts to supervise and guide the efforts of CCPRN and its mission to provide information, training, resources, and support to those providing child care in a home setting.

Brenda Burns | Past President
Brenda grew up in a military family and has been a volunteer with CCPRN since 2001. In addition to owning and operating a successful home daycare since 1991, she once worked as an office manager for an architect. She is married with two children and two grandchildren. When not volunteering, Brenda enjoys painting, nature and meeting new people. During her volunteer time with CCPRN, Brenda has had many roles including Board Secretary, Vice-President, and President/Chair. Once a Network leader, Childcare Connection facilitator, Childcare Connection Liaison Officer, and facilitator with the National Family Childcare Training Program, she now puts her time and energy towards advocating at the provincial level on behalf of home child care in Ontario.
Marion Butlin | Vice President
Marion graduated with an education in business administration, and – upon discovering a passion for early learning after having her own child – returned to school to complete a program in early childhood education. She then worked in various child care centres before opening her own home child care. She joined CCPRN in 1996, and recently became affiliated with Natural Connections Childcare.
Stacey Ronalds | Chair
Stacey Ronalds opened her first in home child care in January 2020 after spending 20 years in the veterinary field as a registered veterinary technician. She shares her home with her husband, 3 teenagers, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 rabbit & 50 plus chickens & ducks.
They are a military family and have been blessed to be able to live & travel the world. The most exciting time was the three years they lived in the Netherlands & got to travel Europe.
Stacey’s three children all attended wonderful home daycares when they were younger. It was through these homes that the Ronalds learned truly how special home providers were. These caring people opened up their homes to children and treated them like their own. It was a wonderful bond that is looked back on with fond memories by all.
Stacey has always had a love of children & animals so is incredibly happy to be able to combine the two these days as she opens her Zoo up to her little friends each and every morning at Busy Bees Home Childcare.
Jennifer Elliott | Secretary
Jennifer is a Registered Early Childhood Educator with a love for caring for young children and watching them learn and develop through play. She is a mother of two boys, fifteen and eleven, and loves to travel and enjoy spending time with family and friends. She is hoping to continue working with children and be involved in the home daycare community because she believes it is a wonderful option for children in their early development years.
Najat Alzaher | Director
Najat has been a child care provider for over a decade, as such, she has gained plenty of experience in caring for and supervising multiple children at once. She is proficient in English, Arabic, and French languages, thus making language barriers between herself and the children and parents almost nonexistent. She is also an active member of her community, engaging in and coordinating multiple volunteer efforts and community events.
Alexandra Dionne | Director
Alexandra graduated with a diploma in Medical Aesthetics and took classes in Public Relations. It wasn’t until her family got posted to CFB Esquimalt, BC that she discovered her passion for early childhood development. For the last 10 years, she’s been operating a highly successful home daycare on two military bases.
Dedicated to community involvement, she keeps busy in projects such as coordinating playgroups with other caregivers and military families, community cleanups, Family Advisory Network, Uplands Community Run Club and also provides guidance and support to military spouses wanting to start their own home daycares.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, running, and hiking with her husband and two kids ages 9 and 11 as well as taking her adventure cats out in nature.

Board Consultants
Board Consultants come from a variety of professional backgrounds and are available to lend the Board their expertise in an advisory capacity. They support CCPRN’s mission by volunteering on committees, reviewing resources, and/or providing expert knowledge and guidance on a variety of topics related to the organization’s ongoing operations and/or strategic plan.
Volunteering as a Board Consultant provides community professionals with the ideal opportunity to support CCPRN without the traditional time commitments and responsibilities of being on the Board of Directors.
All CCPRN Board Consultants have the opportunity to put their skills and expertise to good use, directly assisting CCPRN in making a difference in the lives of Ontario home child care providers and the families they serve.
