Hello! My name is Laura and I am a new unlicensed, home daycare provider.

A little about me:
I am a RECE and Ontario Certified Teacher with over 10 years experience working in Child Care and in the Ottawa Catholic School Board teaching K-6.

I am located in Stittsville, ON and provide an extremely nurturing, playful, relaxing environment. My home consists of my 4.5 year old son who is finishing JK, my husband David, and our 7 year old dog, Freddy (who is a friendly hypoallergenic Westie/Poodle mix).
My home backs onto a private farm, which provides lots of privacy, space, and nature. We are also located within walking distance to 3 playgrounds, including a splash pad. I have a fully fenced in backyard with lots of grass space to play. Our play space is on the main floor with lots of natural daylight and space to move around.
I provide a morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack, daily.
I have a recent Criminal Background Check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening (September 2022).

My Philosophy:
I follow a play-based learning curriculum, where children’s interests lead the play and guide learning. I provide developmentally appropriate toys, activities, and structured routine as part of the day to day schedule. I believe in providing Kindergarten readiness, which includes ensuring children can feed/dress themselves, and integrate socially and emotionally into a school environment.
Outdoor play is crucial for gross motor development and provides endless opportunities for social and emotional learning. I enjoy taking the kiddos outdoors to play, whether it be in our backyard, or to the park, or for a nature walk around the safe and friendly neighbourhood. On rainy/snowy days we will still try and get outside, unless there is extreme weather.

Hours of operation include 7:30am-4:30pm, with flexibility for a small fee. My fee is $65/day.

I am currently taking interviews for 1 full time space for ages 2+ starting in September 2023.
